MEDICAL AND SOCIAL PROBLEMS OF OBESITY IN SCHOOL AGE CHILDREN
Аннотация
Over the past three decades, the prevalence of overweight and obesity has increased significantly. It is estimated that around 170 million children (under 18 years of age) are overweight worldwide, and in some countries the number of overweight children has tripled since 1980. The high prevalence of overweight and obesity has dire consequences for public health. Childhood obesity is also associated with a significant deterioration in the quality of life and an increased risk of social isolation. According to the National Center for Public Health, in Kazakhstan there is a negative trend in the prevalence of overweight among children - 20% of Kazakhstani schoolchildren are overweight.
